I have been fortunate enough to be involved in the floor covering business my entire career building a strong network and knowledge base.  From the time I was in high school, I cleaned carpet on weekends for a small company in Chicago. With an entrepreneurial spirit, I bought that carpet cleaning equipment from that company when I moved to Tennessee and cleaned carpet throughout college.

Graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1984, the largest manufacturer in the industry was right down the highway in Dalton Georgia, Shaw Industries.  I was hired by Shaw to work in Customer Finance, during the days of changing distribution channels now known as the “distribution evolution”, manufacturers moving away from selling distributors and going direct to dealers. While providing a great experience, after about six years and several promotions, it was time to change paths, and sales is where I wanted to be.  I pursued an opportunity within Shaw with the Stratton Contract division, and moved to the great state of Minnesota in 1990 to manage a territory.  After three years of learning how to run a territory as an employed rep, it was time to stand on my own and run a business.

In 1993 I began “self employment”, rugged individualism and self reliance personified. I found various small mills to represent at first, when in 1994 I found the niches of the high-end residential markets via the likes of Carousel Carpet Mills and Bellbridge.  I focused on limited distribution, selling better quality goods and developing strong relationships.  This resonates today in my mission statement; quality people, quality products, and quality success.

The industry has changed significantly over the 25 years and I have changed with the times to represent the best manufacturers and importers in the fashion and trend oriented business.  I have worked on many commercial projects from the MN State Capitol renovation, prestigious law firms, and national retail stores. Residentially I have supplied carpets and rugs for many luxury homes via interior designers and decorative supply showrooms dealers.  I will continue to seek out the best quality products and people to insure my clients continued success.
